Following on from the CPD-23 Things, and heading into Thing 3, I followed up on the suggestion of Googling my name. Despite now having a blog, that didn't come up at all (not sure why), but I was glad that my facebook account didn't appear either. Interestingly enough I did come up through Exeter University's web site, both in the role I am now doing, and in other extra places such as Induction Facilitator and Sustainability Representative. I took some time to update my Linked-In Account, but am still not sure if that's the route to take. Will continue following the progress of others as they take on Social Networking and am interested to see where this will go.

Into a new week, and the challenge of a new floor in the library opening up (it looks fantastic) and the books moving from one floor into this new space. When we loose level 0 (mid July) we will be in the final phase of the Forum work. It will be great to have the years of building work and planning come to fruition, but it's been a long hard slog and some of us seem to be worried that we have the energy or stamina and commitment required to do these last few months which may well be the most difficult phase of the lot...

Why are meetings so stressful?! I enjoy the work I do, but the politics can all get a bit much sometimes. The answer - spending some moments picking old labels off books works pretty well for calming down :-) Hope today is better.....

Having spent hours researching HEPA filters, depulvera machines, museum vacs and longevity of domestic vacuums I finally started hoovering the books yesterday. It looks like one floor will take about 700 hours work, and now the team want to clean the other floor instead! Still, variety is supposed to be the spice of life and it makes a change from sitting at the computer :-)

Just subscribed to the cpd23 things.
Am already working on the ILM award in First Line Management, so hope that this cpd will compliment that.
Working part time (24.5 hours per week) can be a challenge, but the University term has ended so hope to have enough time for this and essay writing - you never know, I may even manage some reflection!
